In the decade I've known Denise, I've seen her as a leader in, and promoter of, the nonprofit sector. I observed this most closely in her role as chair of both the 2010 and 2011 Northern California Planned Giving Conference. As I had chaired the two prior years, I was in an especially good vantage point to see that her execution was well done. She recruited great speakers and ensured the day ran seamlessly. She brought in and oversaw a fine conference committee to leverage her leadership.
